Enough for the Journey
What do we do when we have given everything we have and it still is not enough? That is the question at the heart of this message, drawn from the story of Elijah collapsing under a broom tree in 1 Kings 19. After one of the greatest demonstrations of divine power in all of Scripture, a single threat from a queen sends this mighty prophet running for his life — and then asking God to end it. What unfolds is not a lecture or a correction. It is a hand, a meal, and permission to sleep. God meets Elijah not with demands but with provision, not with disappointment but with presence. The spiritual lesson here is both simple and profound: when we reach our breaking point, God does not argue with us. God feeds us, rests us, and then quietly asks what keeps us in our cave. This message invites us to sit honestly with our own exhaustion and to recognize that the silence we sometimes experience is not absence — it may be exactly where God is.
